My first CrossFit days were spent in the starter gym in my basement. We tried to learn form and technique by watching videos on the main site . . . Coach Burgner would have laughed. Today I'm a trainer at CrossFit Birmingham and coach the Homewood Rigorous Bootcamp.

I walked into CFB the first day it opened thinking this basic "benchmark workout" would be a breeze, and maybe I'd even do a regular WOD after so I could really get in a good workout for the day. Richard, got your advice on the protein & you are probably correct. I usually have a scoop of protein powder in my morning smoothie & then another 2 scoop shake with either coffee/ice or just water after my workout at noon--but I'm out of powder and haven't had a chance to go by and get any more.

I have been working out at the Y for a few months, dropped 15 fat pounds and got a little bigger. I have cancelled the membership at the Y so I guess it's time for Crossfit BHam...
I'm gona go by and see rigorous tomoz, but I have a few weeks left at the Y before I can join. R u an instructer now?

O.K. Richard you have returned from your level 1 cert. and you have great pictures. When are you going to blog about it? Tell us what wods they had you do and how you performed? How do you think your CFB experience benefited you during the cert? Also, what are your thoughts on the Gun show?

im actually going to my second L1 this weekend in Milton, FL. Im going to watch the trainers and soak that in. Try to get a better idea of what theyre looking for. After that, my Barbell cert is in May and then i have L2 in July in Cali.

theres a 70% fail rate for L2. hahahahaha
but either way, i will be out there in Cali for 10 days and will test for L2 and go to the Games while im out there.

i will definitely keep you posted on everything.
I will let you know how L1 goes this weekend also!

I went this morning and did the WOD, and I am going to go back this afternoon at 4 and do max pull ups, run 400m and do that for 20 minutes if you want to do it
